Nutrition & Inflammation

As Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” The food we eat each day can either promote healing or contribute to inflammation. Ultra-processed and high-sugar foods are well known to drive chronic inflammation, yet confusion remains around what truly supports health. Nutrition is often approached from a mindset of restriction or the latest fad diet, which can be stressful and unsustainable. A clear focus on nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory foods reduces inflammation, supports metabolic and cellular health, and provides the foundation the body needs to thrive.

Gut Health

A healthy gut is essential not only for digestion, but also for nutrient absorption, immunity, and mental well-being.  A large percentage of neurotransmitters, including serotonin, are produced in the gastrointestinal tract, directly influencing mood, energy, and sleep. The microbiome, a community of trillions of beneficial bacteria, plays a strong role in reducing inflammation, strengthening immunity, and lowering the risk of chronic disease. Gastrointestinal is a pillar to overall health and wellness.

Detoxification

Your body has built-in detoxification pathways to eliminate toxins and waste.  These systems include:  liver, gut, skin, lungs, and kidneys. When these systems are supported, the body can clear harmful substances more effectively, lowering inflammation, and restoring balance. Supporting detox should part of your daily routine.

Hormones

Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, cortisol, and DHEA all play vital roles in energy, sleep, metabolism, and resilience.  Supporting hormone health is key to restoring rhythm and vitality. Metabolic health and cell health will be addressed as well.

Nervous System

The nervous system must be in a parasympathetic state  of rest and digest for true healing to occur. Chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated, disrupting hormones, digestion, and sleep.  You will learn practices and which supplements will help the body stay in a parasympathetic state as opposed to a sympathetic state  of fight or flight.
